Current projects

The political situation in Ethiopia is currently dramatic. Therefore, we will use the donations from 2021 for a new project region: Tanzania

Tanzania is one of the least developed countries in the world. (Source: UNCTAD). Not even half of the rural population has access to a basic drinking water supply.

Around 60 million people live in Tanzania – almost half of them in extreme poverty.

Reliable partner on site

The local partner is the People’s Development Forum, which has specialized in WASH projects since 2010. The professional and qualitative project implementation has been audited on site and also confirmed by external experts. People’s Development Forum is already working successfully with UNICEF, USAID and GIZ.

What does a project look like?

One project in Tanzania consists of a deep well with several access points. It is guaranteed that one of these lines leads to a school and the others to nearby communities.

The construction of this project costs €100,000. This deep well will provide access to clean drinking water for approximately 2,000 people. This corresponds to an investment of 50 € per person.

As with our projects in Ethiopia, educating community members and raising their awareness about hygiene is an integral part of the WASH projects.
